About UMYF

Radical Discipleship. Christian Formation. Benson Memorial’s Youth Program is all about making disciples of our young people, helping them to connect to others and recognize God’s presence and call upon their life. We believe that the church is to be in dynamic ministry to our youth, that we are to be in vibrant ministry with our youth, and that youth also play a role in ministering to the body of Christ with excellence. In so many ways, young people are not the future of the church, they ARE the church NOW! Made up of grades 6 through 12, the youth ministry at Benson has been a strong part of the church for decades. Our very own Meghan Jones is putting on Operation Music Saves to raise money for the Playing for Change Foundation. Playing for Change Foundation creates opportunities for underprivileged kids to go to music school….so great! Super Bowl Thanks! Thank you to all of you how donated supplies, helped serve, and donated during our ice-cream fundraiser last Sunday. We raised $240 that will go towards our Acquire the Fire trip on March 19-20th. I feel like I am always making these great plans that are rational and comfortable and then God comes along and mixes things up. What a blessing!!! God comes and gives us something so much better than what we were planning. Like maybe a snow day in North Carolina!!! I don’t know about you but I have to be reminded of God’s promises when my plans don’t seem to work out. He reminds us that He has much more in store for us than we can dream of. John 10:10 reminds us of that promise.
