MISSION
STATEMENT
As
members of Benson Memorial United
Methodist Church,
as well as members of Christ’s universal church, we pledge to be loyal to the
United Methodist Church,
and do all in our power to strengthen its ministries. As members of this congregation, we pledge
to faithfully participate in its ministries by our prayers, our presence, our
gifts and our service.
The
people of Benson
Memorial United
Methodist Church
strive to fulfill the Great Commandment and the Great Commission*- to
celebrate, strengthen and share the Christian faith - through the following
activities:
- Celebrate
the love and salvation of Jesus Christ through worship.
- Join
together in a spirit of fellowship to share joy, love and acceptance,
and strengthen our bonds.
- Strengthen
our faith through prayer and Bible study in order to become better
disciples.
- Minister
in the name of Jesus Christ to the needs of the people in the Benson
Memorial’s church family, the Raleigh
area and the global community.
- Communicate
God’s Word to non-believers so that they might share in God’s love and
gain salvation.
* Great Commandment: “Love the Lord your God with all your
heart and with all your soul and with all our
mind. Love your neighbor as yourself….” (Matthew 22: 37-39)

Great Commission: “Therefore go and
make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and
of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey
