CONFIRMATION CLASSES begin Sunday, February 21, 2010 for baptized and not baptized children between the ages of twelve and nineteen. Please contact Skip as soon as possible for details.

 

TO SERVANTS OF CHRIST and those who wish to be, there are opportunities to serve in many areas of BMUMC, such as communion steward, acolyte coordinator, lay reader coordinator, kitchen “magicians”, children’s council, preschool board greeters, ushers, and many more! Working in the church brings a deeper joy and spiritual satisfaction than ever before!  Give it a try! Call Skip or the office for information!

 

COVINGTON MINISTRY This program which ministers to The Covington Assisted Living Residents had a very successful 2009.  When this program began, four to six residents attended the once-a-month service of Gospel singing and reading scripture.  Attendance increased each month along with joy and interest from the residents.  Forty Covington residents participated in our joyful Christmas service.  Even more interest and participation is anticipated in 2010.  What a wonderful experience it has been sharing Christ’s love with the residents of The Covington.  If you would like to assist, contact Jimmy Ennis, 787-5626.  The next service will be Sunday, January 17, 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.

 

ADULT FELLOWSHIP will meet Thursday, January 14, 11:30 a.m. Milton’s Pizza and Pasta, 8853 Six Forks Rd.  Please be prepared to pay dues of $5 per person.  To make reservations to attend contact Bill or June Davies 376.8625.

 

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY will resume Wednesday, January 13, 6:45 p.m. in Room 202.  All women are welcome.

 

THE PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY GROUP will meet Tuesday, January 19, 2:00 p.m. in the Conference Room.  All new or seasoned knitters and crocheters are always welcome!  For more information contact Pam Williford at 846-3469.

 

MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN WAKE COUNTY   Warmth for Wake is a volunteer organization within Wake County Human Services in which volunteers cut, split, and deliver firewood to those in need in Wake County.  Over forty-eight homes were served last year and we hope to do the same or better this year. 

The work days will be the following Saturdays: January 23 - February 13 and 27 -March 13 and 27 (if needed, will be clean-up day) at the Raleigh Yard Waste Facility, 900 New Hope Road and at Jimmy Everett's Tree Service, 10024 Baileywick Road.  For more information about how to volunteer please contact the church office 787-0789.

ACOLYTE ROBES NEED REPAIR – Some Acolyte robes need hems repaired.  Please contact Karen Stevens, 870-5275 to volunteer your help.

 

LAY SPEAKER TRAINING – A basic Lay Speaker training will be held Saturday, February 13, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Methodist Building, 1307 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh.  The instructor will be Tom Walden.  Registration fee is $10 which includes lunch. BROADWAY MUSIC NIGHT – Saturday, February 27, 7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Would you like to be part of the show?  Benson Memorial is planning its own music night and looking for stars among the members.  Do you sing, dance, play an instrument, do a comedy routine, etc.?  Do you have hidden talents that you would be willing to share for a night of fun?  There is also a SILENT AUCTION
